About the role:

As our Sr accounting Analyst - US and Latam, you will be a strategic team member responsible for overseeing the accounting, controlling, and reporting functions. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance, and providing valuable insights to support business decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and management of day to day accounting operations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting by preparing and reviewing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Lead the entire process from accounting Operations to ERP-based accounting.
  • Ensure all accounting records align with our internal financial classification, accounting policies, and primarily with USGAAP and Local GAAP principles.
  • Work with accountants and advisors to properly align tax strategies in the accounting function.
  • Optimize treasury, billing, and accounting processes. Guarantee integrity and efficiency in all financial procedures.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and ensure the company's practices align with industry best practices.
  • Evaluate and enhance financial systems and technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identify and assess accounting risks, and propose and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial accounting, preferably in tech / SaaS / fintech startups
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, including hands-on experience with: month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Experience supporting LATAM operations, including at least two of the following countries: Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina.
  • Proven experience managing monthly and quarterly close processes.
  • Experience coordinating with external accountants, advisors, and audit firms.
  • Solid understanding of multi-currency environments, including foreign exchange (FX) and intercompany transactions.
  • Experience with accounting software, such as Oracle, Netsuite or SAP, is preferred.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English is a must.
  • Portuguese is desirable.
  • Startup experience is a plus.
  • Possesses excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Exhibits meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks and working autonomously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
