Senior Accounting Analyst - US & LATAM

About the role:
As our Sr accounting Analyst - US and Latam, you will be a strategic team member responsible for overseeing the accounting, controlling, and reporting functions. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance, and providing valuable insights to support business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Support and management of day to day accounting operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting by preparing and reviewing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Lead the entire process from accounting Operations to ERP-based accounting.
- Ensure all accounting records align with our internal financial classification, accounting policies, and primarily with USGAAP and Local GAAP principles.
- Work with accountants and advisors to properly align tax strategies in the accounting function.
- Optimize treasury, billing, and accounting processes. Guarantee integrity and efficiency in all financial procedures.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and ensure the company's practices align with industry best practices.
- Evaluate and enhance financial systems and technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify and assess accounting risks, and propose and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Minimum qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial accounting, preferably in tech / SaaS / fintech startups
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, including hands-on experience with: month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
- Experience supporting LATAM operations, including at least two of the following countries: Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina.
- Proven experience managing monthly and quarterly close processes.
- Experience coordinating with external accountants, advisors, and audit firms.
- Solid understanding of multi-currency environments, including foreign exchange (FX) and intercompany transactions.
- Experience with accounting software, such as Oracle, Netsuite or SAP, is preferred.
- Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English is a must.
- Portuguese is desirable.
- Startup experience is a plus.
- Possesses excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Exhibits meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks and working autonomously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
