About the role

As a Delivery Manager at Simetrik, you will be the servant leader and delivery “coach” for one of our largest product initiatives: the Controls Automation team. Your main responsibility will be to create the conditions for predictable, high-quality delivery while keeping the team focused, motivated and connected to the impact of what we build for our customers.

You will sit at the intersection of product, engineering and stakeholders, making sure we understand the effort required, the real capacity of the team, and how that translates into realistic plans and outcomes. This is an individual contributor role with strong influence: you won’t “manage by hierarchy”, but by clarity, structure, and your ability to read people and help them perform at their best.

What does success look like in this role?

  • The team delivers on the commitments defined at the start of each cycle with high quality and minimal surprises.

  • You provide clear visibility on capacity, scope and progress, so product and leadership can make informed decisions.

  • The team remains motivated and resilient despite changes in priorities or scope, understanding the “why” behind decisions.

  • You bring meaningful insights about team performance, risks and opportunities, helping us decide if we have the right people in the right seats.

  • Agile ceremonies are not a ritual, but a real driver of continuous improvement and better delivery.

What is the impact and scope of this position?

The Controls Automation team builds capabilities for the users who automate financial operations and controls in our clients’ organizations. The work of this team directly affects how our customers:

  • Implement and maintain financial automations.

  • Improve the efficiency and reliability of their daily operations.

  • Ensure traceability, compliance and risk reduction.

Your impact will be felt in how well this team can:

  • Turn product decisions into concrete, realistic delivery plans.

  • Coordinate dependencies with other product teams, especially those tied to our core reconciliation engine.

  • Release product versions that, together with other initiatives, move the needle for our existing and future clients.

What outcomes are expected in the first 3 to 6 months?

In the first 3 months, we expect you to:

  • Understand the product, the Controls Automation initiative and how it connects to the rest of Simetrik.

  • Map current ways of working, delivery rhythms and bottlenecks of the team.

  • Establish a clear system for tracking capacity, scope and progress (using tools like Jira and Jellyfish).

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies in a way that feels structured, useful and focused on outcomes.

By month 6, we expect you to:

  • Have increased predictability of delivery (better alignment between what is planned and what is shipped).

  • Provide regular, actionable insights on team performance, risks and staffing needs.

  • Demonstrate that the team can navigate changes in scope or priorities without losing focus, quality or motivation.

  • Be recognized by the team as a trusted coach: someone who helps them understand the value of the product and brings out their best work.

In this role you will

  • Act as the Delivery Manager for one or more product teams, with a primary focus on the Controls Automation initiative.

  • Serve as a servant leader: removing impediments, enabling the team to do its best work, and protecting focus.

  • Translate product goals into realistic plans by aligning scope, timelines and team capacity.

  • Keep everyone aligned on “what” we are doing, “why” it matters for the product and customers, and “how” we are progressing.

  • Use data and team feedback to improve how we plan, execute and deliver over time.

What are the key responsibilities of this role?

  • Own the end-to-end delivery process for your team(s), from planning to release.

  • Drive the appropriate Agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban, or a hybrid) to ensure predictable, quality delivery.

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (dailies, planning, reviews, retrospectives) and ensure they lead to decisions and improvements, not just status updates.

  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to:

  • Define scope and priorities.

  • Estimate effort and understand trade-offs.

  • Manage dependencies with other teams and initiatives.

  • Continuously assess team capacity and workload; help define and adjust the capacity model based on real data.

  • Proactively identify impediments (process, scope, communication, dependencies) and drive solutions with the right stakeholders.

  • Monitor and report on delivery metrics (throughput, velocity, quality signals, blockers) using tools like Jira and Jellyfish.

  • Provide visibility to stakeholders and leadership on accomplishments, risks, and required decisions.

  • Act as a coach for the team:

  • Reading individual and team dynamics.

  • Supporting people through change and uncertainty.

  • Helping each person understand expectations and how their work connects to the product vision.

Must Have

  • Proven experience in Agile delivery roles in software development (e.g., Delivery Manager, Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Project Manager) working with tech teams.

  • Strong facilitation skills for ceremonies and group discussions, keeping conversations focused and outcome-oriented.

  • Solid understanding of Agile concepts (Scrum, Kanban, iterations, capacity, throughput, dependencies) and how to apply them pragmatically.

  • Ability to calculate and reason about team capacity using real data (time, effort, scope, historical trends).

  • High emotional intelligence and soft skills:

  • Empathy and active listening.

  • Ability to read team dynamics and individual signals.

  • Skill in keeping the team motivated and centered during change.

  • Excellent organization and attention to detail, especially in planning, tracking and documentation.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), able to translate complexity into clarity for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Comfortable working with remote teams across different locations and time zones.

  • Hands-on experience using Jira (or a similar tool) to manage backlogs, boards, sprints and reporting.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in product-led SaaS companies, particularly in B2B or fintech contexts.

  • Experience as a software engineer or in another technical role before moving into delivery / project management.

  • Familiarity with engineering analytics tools like Jellyfish or similar.

  • Previous experience working in startups or fast-changing environments.

  • Experience managing more than one team or project simultaneously.

  • Background in financial services, payments, or financial controls is a plus, but not mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience in software product development.

  • 2–3+ years of experience in roles such as Delivery Manager, Scrum Master, Agile Coach or Project Manager working with software development teams.

  • Experience in tech companies or software development environments is required (industry can be varied; mindset and context are what matter most).

  • Fluency in Spanish and strong proficiency in English (both written and spoken), as you will interact with tools, vendors and documentation in English.

  • Location: Preference for candidates based in Colombia and Argentina given our in person team gatherings.

Benefits

  • Well-funded and proven startup with large ambitions and competitive salaries.
  • Entrepreneurial culture where pushing limits, creating and collaborating is everyday business.
  • Open communication with management and company leadership.
  • Small, dynamic teams = massive impact.
  • 500USD a year for you to invest in learning.
