About the role

The Product Engineering team at Simetrik is launching an experimental project to develop automations and intelligent agents that optimize internal operational processes. As a Prompt Engineer, you will join this early-stage initiative focused on building sustainable automation solutions from scratch.

This is a junior position ideal for someone with solid programming skills and a strong interest in automation. You'll work on creating workflows that connect different systems and reduce manual tasks. Given the experimental nature of the project, we need someone comfortable with ambiguity, willing to iterate frequently, and capable of working independently.

What does success look like in this role?

You successfully identify operational inefficiencies and implement automations that measurably improve team productivity. Your solutions are reliable, well-documented, and adopted by teams across the organization.

What is the impact and scope of this position?

You will directly impact how Simetrik's operations team works on a daily basis by reducing manual tasks and creating scalable automation frameworks. As this is an early-stage project, you'll have significant input in defining the technical direction and use cases.

In this role you will

  • Write Python code to build custom automations and integrations
  • Develop and consume APIs to connect different systems
  • Build robust automations using platforms like N8N, Zapier, and Make
  • Implement MCP to enable communication between AI agents and your automations
  • Create complex workflows in Google Workspace using their APIs
  • Debug and troubleshoot code and automation issues
  • Write technical documentation for your implementations
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering and operations teams to understand requirements
  • Design solutions that scale and handle edge cases properly
  • Research and implement new automation tools and techniques
  • Participate in defining the technical architecture for this experimental project

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain automations using no-code/low-code platforms (N8N, Zapier, Make)
  • Develop custom integrations and scripts in Python when platform limitations require it
  • Design and implement API integrations between multiple systems
  • Implement MCP for communication between AI agents and automation workflows
  • Write clean, documented, and testable code
  • Build error handling and recovery mechanisms for all automations
  • Automate complex workflows in Google Workspace using APIs and Apps Script
  • Document technical implementations and create user guides
  • Debug and optimize existing automations for performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with teams to identify and prioritize automation opportunities
  • Develop reusable components and libraries for common automation patterns
  • Monitor automation performance and implement improvements
  • Support integrations with AI agents using MCP

Must Have

  • Technical degree or equivalent knowledge (Computer Science, Engineering, Systems, or related field - recent graduates welcome)
  • Solid Python programming skills and ability to write clean, maintainable code
  • Good understanding of APIs (REST, authentication, JSON manipulation)
  • Knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol) for AI agent integration
  • Strong interest and demonstrated experience with automation tools (N8N, Zapier, Make, or similar)
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and its automation capabilities
  • Problem-solving mindset and logical thinking
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish and English
  • Proactivity and self-direction
  • Comfort working in experimental, undefined environments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI/ML concepts and tools (OpenAI API, LangChain, etc.)
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP)
  • Knowledge of database management (SQL, NoSQL)
  • Experience with version control (Git)
  • Background in operations, process improvement, or business analysis
  • JavaScript and Google Apps Script experience
  • Previous startup or high-growth company experience
  • Portfolio of automation projects or contributions to open-source

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Languages: Professional proficiency in Spanish (English andPortuguese is a plus)
  • Location: LATAM preferred, fully remote position
  • Mindset: Experimental approach, comfort with ambiguity, and passion for building from scratch

Benefits

  • Well-funded and proven startup with large ambitions and competitive salaries.
