What does success look like in this role?

Success in this role means ensuring the team builds integration solutions that truly solve user and technical challenges, through solid discovery processes, functional validation, and alignment with engineering. A successful Product Owner in this role deeply understands how systems exchange data, prioritizes effectively, and works autonomously with a strong sense of ownership and impact.

What is the impact and scope of this position?

This role is critical in bridging product strategy with real technical and user integration needs. Its impact is reflected in the robustness and adoption of inbound and outbound integrations and in the team’s ability to iterate efficiently.
A key aspect to highlight is that this role is embedded within the product team focused on automating data integrations between Simetrik and external systems. This requires the ability to interact with technical teams and understand APIs, data flows, and system behaviors.

What outcomes are expected in the first 3 to 6 months?

  • Design, prioritize, and launch at least one integration feature with clear business impact and adoption.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of data exchange flows and how integration solutions support client success.

  • Take full ownership of discovery, backlog, and delivery within the integrations squad.

  • Operate autonomously and with sound judgment to make prioritization decisions in collaboration with engineering.

In this role you will

What are the key responsibilities of this role?

  • Lead discovery processes to understand integration challenges across internal and external systems.

  • Translate integration needs into technical requirements and prioritize accordingly.

  • Own and manage the backlog in close collaboration with engineering and QA.

  • Facilitate alignment meetings with design, data, and engineering teams.

  • Make product decisions using data, stakeholder input, and feasibility assessment.

  • Ensure consistent delivery of features from definition to release.

  • Leverage AI tools to support discovery and technical documentation where applicable.

Must Have

What does this person need in terms of competencies or skills to be successful?

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Product Owner.

  • Background in software engineering or similar technical role (e.g., developer, technical analyst).

  • Proven experience working on integration projects or with API-based products.

  • Ability to work autonomously and proactively manage ambiguity.

  • Strong collaboration skills to work closely with engineering teams.

  • End-to-end product ownership and accountability.

  • Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving.

  • Fluent Spanish and professional English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in SaaS companies focused on integrations.

  • Familiarity with the fintech space or transactional systems.

  • Use of AI tools for automation, prototyping, or documentation.

  • Prior work in high-uncertainty contexts or fast-growing environments.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other STEM fields.

  • Previous experience in startups or product teams with technical complexity.

  • Preferred location: LatAm (COL, MX, ARG, BR), aligned with the team’s time zone.
