The Haulage Manager would be responsible for planning, coordinating, overseeing and strategically managing the smooth supply of assets and running of all transport requests and operations in a cost effective and efficient manner.
· Ensure assets are adequately sourced with the right numbers and specifications of trucks to fulfil commercial/sales requests.
· Ensure prompt and profitable allocation of trucks following commercial/sales requests.
· Collaborate with the Account Manager to design rate cards specific to assigned clients' demands.
· Conduct periodic review/appraisal of Logistics Partner performance and make recommendations to management on retention decisions.
· Ensure the enforcement of/and compliance with Logistics Partner/Trucker SLAs and recommend disciplinary actions in case of default.
· Activate relationships with Truck Parks Chairmen and aggregators in selected locations.
· Collate and gather data of trucking business/rates from select locations.
· Asset and route Optimization – more profits, less assets.
· Ensure increased productivity, accuracy and fulfilment of SLAs are on target.
· Resolve delivery inconsistencies or delays and escalate if necessary.
· Ensure the logistic partners (drivers) have the accurate address details and ensure on time delivery of goods.
· Reduce stock/logistic/shipment damage by dealing with inquiries and freight management and ensuring compliance related to shipping or transportation.
· Perform any other responsibility as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
·
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or related field
- 5 years of experience as a logistics or compliance professional in the logistics industry or related institution.
- Data Analysis/reporting skills.
- Strong understanding of FMCG and Agric sector is required.
- Knowledge of the solid minerals sector would be an added advantage.
- Existing database and large network in specified locations.
- Strong client relationship management and issue resolution skills (customer service skills).
- Ability to train and develop logistics and fulfilment agents’ networks.
- Attention to detail.
- Demonstrated organizational or managerial skills.
