Vumele is a category agnostic B2B network for informal trade focused on accelerating the velocity of commerce by enabling stakeholders in the informal sector to access and offer value amongst each other.
This could mean ensuring a great assortment of low-priced goods is available to them, providing a way for them to manage inventory, or facilitating finance. Our aim is to understand the informal economy better than anyone and help them grow in ways they haven’t before.

This individual will be responsible for providing instant access to agriculture/commodities trade and transactions through their active supply and demand networks with the aim of increasing business revenue. You will be responsible for identifying gaps and liaising with the Commercial Manger/Lead to fill in these opportunity gaps. The Sector Associate sets goals and ensures these goals are achieved within the Agricultural sector.
- Work with leadership in defining strategic agribusiness goals and objectives for the company.
- Develop and execute new strategies to allow the business to penetrate and expand in the sector and increase business revenue.
- Manage different customer relationships with focus on customer and user acquisition, activation, retention and providing excellent service.
- Creating reports on key metrics to determine the company’s progress in meeting its goals.
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities for new products or services within the market.
- Provide regular two-way communication with the customers to provide strong team representation and set proper customer expectations.
- Act as link between the commercial, marketing and product teams.
- Liaising with marketing to develop campaigns that target specific customer segments or geographic regions
Requirements
Special Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any Science or Social Sciences-related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in agriculture and commodities trading sector,
- Demonstrated Trade & Business Development track record within the sector.
- Strong supply and demand networks and contacts within the Agriculture sector/category
- Strong Financial/business Acumen.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to exert influence where necessary
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make recommendations by using data and judgment that is consistent with company culture as well as standards, practices, policies, procedures, or governing law.
- Outstanding writing, presentation, and communications skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
