The Opportunity
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in a global organization while growing your career in internal controls and compliance? Altus Group is looking for a Manager, Internal Controls & Compliance to join our high-performing Global Internal Controls & Compliance team on a 12-month maternity leave contract.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in completing and managing internal audit assignments, including testing design and operational effectiveness of controls over financial reporting across Altus Group’s global operations. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with leaders across the business, contribute to continuous improvement, and help shape best practices that support our long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform the planning and independent testing of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and IT general controls, to support the CEO/CFO certification process
Provide remediation support for internal control deficiencies identified; provide guidance to Management for the design of internal controls; and liaise with business process owners on internal controls
Assist with the planning and execution of other projects. Conduct risk assessments and prepare the audit scope and respective testing plan
Execute the testing of internal controls and other audit projects based on internal audit standards and best practices. Prepare formal audit reports with findings and recommendations, and present the findings to senior Management
Interact with and provide continuous improvement recommendations to the business with respect to governance, risk and compliance
Maintain the internal control deficiencies and audit recommendations logs. Follow up regularly with responsible individuals to ensure the timely implementation of remediation action plans
Liaise with external auditors to facilitate the external audit process
Support the Senior Director in continuous process improvements and initiatives. Managing special projects as required
Key Requirements:
CPA or CIA are preferred designations
4 + years of internal audit experience
Knowledge of the IIA audit standards and COSO frameworks
Experience performing internal control audits; experience in SOX
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal management
Superior organizational skills
Understanding of IT controls and experience in testing IT general controls
