Job Summary:

The Delivery Manager will work with the product development teams and drive on-time quality releases of our cloud software, aligning deliverables and dependencies within the projects, driving project plans, mitigating risks, and providing transparency. Collaborating with cross-functional teams across the globe, you will further your reach and impact as a leader, building out and coaching teams while working collaboratively with stakeholders across the software development lifecycle. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will drive efficiency across the software development lifecycle, ultimately influencing similar transitions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the Product Manager, Solution Architect, and Technical Lead to define scope, objectives, and deliverables of release delivery. Maintain and update delivery plans, timelines, resource plans, and dependencies across multiple releases.

  • Transparency and Reporting: Ensure transparency by providing timely and accurate status reporting, metrics, and delivery risk mitigation plans during weekly delivery clinics. Monitor team metrics including velocity and forecast of delivery plans based on estimates and actuals.

  • Velocity Management: Drive engineering teams to achieve the highest possible velocity. Identify impedances to velocity and work with team experts to enact remediation plans, ensuring the retention of optimal velocity.

  • Team Empowerment and Innovation: Empower team members to self-organize and make informed decisions. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team. Plan and conduct post-release retrospectives to drive improvement.

  • Senior Management Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for senior management on a day-to-day basis. Serve as the main point of escalation for team issues, promptly escalating to management as necessary.

  • Backlog Oversight: Ensure Azure DevOps backlogs are configured, organized, and managed by engineering teams to maintain accurate operating metrics for delivery. Evaluate proposed or arising scope changes to ensure achievement of deliverables.

  • Quality Assurance: Uphold principles of measurable quality and efficiency. Set clear expectations, track team progress, and accurately predict timely completion of deliverables.

  • Strategic Planning: Engage in big-picture strategic planning while understanding the significance of minute details. Balance immediate needs with long-term benefits, committed to continuous improvement and proactive issue resolution.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management roles.

  • Certification in project management may be advantageous.

  • Strong working knowledge of software development and software delivery frameworks

  • Familiarity with Agile and Lean practices.

  • Proven leadership skills inspiring team performance.

  • Strategic vision balancing immediate and long-term goals.

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.

  • Resourcefulness in managing stakeholders and organizational dynamics.
