The Sales Development Representative role is responsible for fostering a client-centric sales experience for identifying and prospecting customers by educating them on Altus Group’s offerings and qualifying new sales opportunities. Reporting into the Senior Sales Manager, the Sales Development Representative will act as the first touchpoint with potential customers and qualify leads at the initial stage in the sales funnel. Directly impact Altus Group by properly qualifying high quality opportunities, conducting research on accounts and ensuring a proper handoff to the appropriate team. Collaborate with the Account Executive and management team to identify challenges, best practices and trends in your day-to-day operations. Embody our core values in the day-to-day operations through your internal and external interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify leads through researching relevant Membership Organizations, Journals, Periodicals and Websites and by maintaining a strong knowledge of technology initiatives

  • Generates prospective customers through cold calling (primary focus on new account acquisition)

  • Qualifies leads by setting up meetings and investigating through the CRM system; Qualified leads are then directed to field and/or inside sales team for close

  • Will be responsible for customer feedback

  • Will establish a formal Client Reference System for relevant technology offerings and services

  • Perform accurate data entry of customer profile and customer updates

  • Maintain complete and accurate records of all prospecting and account activity in a customer relationship management database in a timely and consistent manner

Key Qualifications:

  • 1+ years in a B2B and/or B2C SaaS sales role or internship

  • Historical success of meeting or exceeding targets while in a lead generation or inside sales role

  • Experience with a CRM such as NetSuite and Salesforce is an asset

  • Expertise in MS Office

  • Excellent communication skills -written, oral, reporting, diagrams and presentations

  • Customer service orientation

  • Ability to multitask and reprioritize based on urgency

  • Understanding of CRE industry is an asset
