The DevOps Engineer will disruptively think about the future of our cloud products. This role will take deep initiative to research new approaches and drive the business and themselves to stay at the top of each other’s game. DevOps Engineers will improve our own processes as well as the overall customer experience by building functional system that bring the business to new heights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create infrastructure automation scripts using cloud formation or terraform to build new environments

  • Design and implement an automated build process for software projects, striving to make the compilation, testing and packaging process as automatic and foolproof as possible.

  • Follow proper version control practices to implement Infrastructure automation using Python, PowerShell, Shell Script, Terraform, CloudFormation or other relevant technologies. Think of Infrastructure as Code.

  • Modify existing environments that are highly scalable, available and secure.

  • Understand our SLA, minimize downtime, by troubleshooting and ensuring timely resolutions to production issues

  • Proactively monitor systems to ensure and avoid potential downtime.

  • Build various environments (VMs, Cloud instances, etc.) using automation tools i.e., Octopus, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

  • Familiarity with containerization tools like docker/ECS/docker-swarm/Kubernetes

  • Collaborate with Dev Architects and Leaders to implement operational features, tools, and process.

  • Develop tooling and processes to drive and improve customer experience, create playbooks

  • Work across teams with architects and developers for all SaaS applications.

  • Plan and do the deployments of our software to the infrastructure.

  • Building and maintaining tools, solutions, and micro-services associated with

  • deployment and operations platform, ensuring that all meet our customer’s standards

  • and minimize errors.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and production,

  • identifying and solving issues before launch.

  • Automate out operations processes as needed, with accuracy and in compliance with

  • security requirements.

  • Specify, document and develop new product features, and writing automating scripts.

  • Stay current with industry trends and source new ways for the business to improve.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field required.

  • 3 to 5 years minimum of experience as a software developer or engineer preferred.

  • Preferably AWS certified

  • In-depth knowledge of AWS (EC2/RDS/IAM) as well as Terraform, CloudFormation or both

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail & quick learner.

  • Great time management skills with proven ability to meet hard deadlines.

  • Extensive knowledge of coding languages and systems

  • Experience with automating builds, gated builds, and packaging for deployment
