As a Senior Software Engineer, Custodian & Trading Integrations, you will build the systems that connect Performativ’s investment platform to custodians, brokers, trading venues, and market infrastructure. You will work on complex financial integrations across legacy file-based formats, modern APIs, trading applications, and reconciliation workflows that sit at the heart of the investment management lifecycle.

What you’ll do 📈

• Own and build integrations with custodians, brokers, trading venues, and other financial infrastructure providers.

• Design, develop, and operate data flows across positions, transactions, cash, instruments, orders, executions, settlement, and corporate actions.

• Work with both legacy financial formats and modern integration methods, including files, APIs, message-based flows, and event-driven architectures.

• Build reliable ingestion, validation, reconciliation, and monitoring systems for high-volume investment data.

• Develop and improve trading-related workflows, including order routing, execution flows, confirmations, allocations, and reconciliation against custody data.

• Investigate complex production issues across internal systems, external providers, and client environments.

• Work closely with Product, Operations, and Engineering teams to understand real-world investment workflows and turn them into scalable systems.

• Help improve the quality, observability, and resilience of Performativ’s custodian and trading network.

• Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance speed, correctness, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

• Contribute to the technical direction of a core platform area that is critical to Performativ’s growth.

What we’re looking for 🎯

• You have 4-10 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in fintech, banking, asset management, wealth management, trading, or financial infrastructure.

• Experience with trading applications, FIX, order management systems, execution management systems, broker APIs, or low-latency compute is highly preferred.

• You have experience building and maintaining production systems where correctness, reliability, and data integrity matter.

• You understand, or are highly motivated to understand, the investment management lifecycle, including custody, settlement, instruments, transactions, cash movements, market venues, and portfolio data.

• You have worked with complex integrations, including APIs, file-based formats, message queues, SFTP flows, FIX, or other financial protocols.

• You are comfortable debugging complex real-world data issues across multiple systems and providers.

• You have strong backend engineering skills and are comfortable working with technologies such as Python, Golang, PHP, TypeScript, MySQL, Redis, AWS, and CI/CD tooling.

• You understand how to design systems that are observable, testable, and resilient under production usage.

• You can work closely with non-engineering stakeholders and explain technical issues clearly.

• You have a structured, analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.

• You take ownership of problems end to end, from discovery and design to implementation, production support, and continuous improvement.

• Experience with reconciliation between trading, portfolio, and custody systems is a strong plus.

• Experience in regulated environments or mission-critical financial systems is a plus.

• You actively use AI or agent-assisted development tools and think critically about how to apply them responsibly to increase quality and speed.
