In this role, you'll oversee payroll processing cycles for OXIO's global team, ensuring timeliness and efficiency within our accounting calendar. As a successful accountant here, you'll take ownership of projects, providing proactive insights to our Accounting Manager. With OXIO's operations set to expand, you'll experience significant growth opportunities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) in Mexico (with help from an offshore bookkeeper.)
  • Supervise external accounting activities and monthly financial statement preparation, liaising with external accountants in Mexico City for seamless month-end reporting
  • Maintain reconciliations of material accounts including but not limited to intercompany transactions, prepaid expenses, payroll liabilities, taxes payable/receivable, fixed assets, and deferred revenue
  • Coordinate with the Operations/Logistics team to track inventory movement and reconcile monthly
  • Provide timely responses to finance-related customer inquiries and assistance requests
  • Generate ad-hoc reports to fulfill various business needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proficient in accrual accounting principles (US GAAP and/or IFRS)
  • Proficient in Mexico–specific accounting and reporting requirements
  • 5-6 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Skilled in maintaining precise financial reports and managing deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent analytical abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Xero, Quickbooks, or similar accounting software
  • Start-up experience
