Role

Octus Fundamentals delivers comprehensive financial data for corporates across the sub-investment-grade liquid credit and private credit universe. As a Fundamentals Operations Associate, you are the operational backbone of a high-velocity data platform used by credit professionals worldwide. You keep things moving - resolving user queries, supporting financial analysts, maintaining data quality and ensuring our coverage universe stays accurate and current. You bring rigour to every task and a constant eye for where we can do things better.

Please note that for the first six months, candidates based in Bogotá will be expected to work a 7:00 am - 4:00 pm local time shift to support training and ensure overlap with the European team. Working hours will subsequently normalize to a 9:00 am - 6:00 pm schedule as the analyst ramps up and becomes fully autonomous in their role, although occasional early starts may still be required on an ad hoc basis thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor data alerts and retrieve financial documents - ensuring analysts have accurate, up-to-date information to update financial models without having to chase it
  • Identify and validate the correct financial documents for company models - ensuring files match the relevant entity, period and filing type, and that document access aligns with internal compliance requirements
  • Investigate and resolve user requests related to model update queries - assessing whether a gap is genuine, explainable or external and coordinating the appropriate response
  • Support a team of financial analysts with data needs and day-to-day operational tasks
  • Take on ad hoc projects that improve data quality and strengthen our operational processes
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and leverage AI tools to improve the efficiency and consistency of day-to-day operations
  • Maintain and expand the coverage universe across liquid and private credit markets - onboarding new issuers, tracking company-level changes and ensuring model statuses and access classifications remain accurate and current

Requirements

  • Proven ability to manage and organise large volumes of data accurately and consistently, with unwavering attention to detail
  • Strong prioritisation instincts and the ability to stay composed when multiple things demand attention at once
  • Clear and confident communicator - written and verbal - able to liaise effectively across analyst and operations teams
  • Comfortable switching contexts, adjusting priorities and keeping quality high as the work evolves
  • Background in a data operations or similar role within financial services
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business Administration is preferred
