As part of the Asset Recovery Servicing team at Roadrunner Financial the Asset Recovery Specialist II (Bankruptcy) will be immersed in the day-to-day operations and handling of our more specialized and complex accounts. This position will be based out of the Irving office and will report to the Manager of Asset Recovery.

Asset Recovery Specialist II (Bankruptcy) is responsible for managing accounts through all phases of bankruptcy, ensuring compliance with court requirements, company policies, and regulatory standards. This role oversees case management, payment reconciliation, and documentation while serving as a liaison between internal teams, outside counsel, trustees, and courts. The specialist ensures accuracy, timely action, and strong stakeholder communication to protect company interests and maintain compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and monitor Chapter 7, 11, and 13 filings; prepare and file proofs of claim, reaffirmations, amended claims, and motions.
  • Review Chapter 13 plans and ensure accounts are treated accurately in alignment with bankruptcy code and creditor rights.
  • Reconcile pre- and post-petition payments; monitor trustee portals/NDC to confirm accuracy.
  • Manage timelines, deadlines, and objections; escalate at-risk cases and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
  • Initiate collateral recovery and process charge-offs or product cancellations in accordance with policy.
  • Act as primary contact for trustees, attorneys, debt buyers, and internal stakeholders; respond to inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Document case activity in the system of record with audit-ready accuracy.
  • Support reporting and compliance reviews; ensure adherence to CFPB, FDCPA, FCRA, and bankruptcy court standards.
  • Provide cross-team support and assist with process improvements within Asset Recovery.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ bankruptcy case management or related legal/financial services experience.
  • Strong understanding of bankruptcy code, creditor compliance requirements, and payment posting.
  • Experience reviewing Chapter 13 plans and reconciling trustee payments.
  • Familiarity with credit reporting, FDCPA, and FCRA regulations, preferred.
