We are seeking an adaptable and collaborative Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our cross-functional BI team at Octane. In this role, you will join a small team within Strategy that works closely with stakeholders in all departments, including Risk, Servicing, Operations, Finance, Marketing and Sales to facilitate data-driven decision-making and optimize for our next stage of growth in our Core product. The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver who can distill data into actionable insights, break down data concepts to non-data users, and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to make impactful contributions to multiple parts of the business. This position is based in New York City.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify trends, generate action-oriented insights, and drive strategic business decisions that will help maximize Octane’s growth
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain reporting suites that clearly communicate “what” is happening and “why” it is happening
  • Lead analytical projects from start to finish, including scoping, data collection, analysis, and presentation of findings
  • Create and refine forecasting models to highlight business drivers and evaluate performance against historical data and expectations
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to support department initiatives and identify and recommend areas for growth or improvement
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts and Engineers to understand optimal data sources and ensure the required data is available and accurate

Requirements:

  • 4+ years experience in analytics, insights, business intelligence or related quantitative fields. Strategy experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in SQL and/or Python. Experience in Databricks is a plus
  • Expert in Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides
  • Ability to build analytical stories, using data and visualizations to drive impactful insights that lead to action
  • Ability to lead cross-functional analytics projects and work independently to drive projects forward
  • Experience in creating insightful dashboards with a data visualization tool such as Tableau (preferred), Looker, Power BI etc.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects across multiple departments and focuses
  • Be self-driven and proactive in advancing projects that may involve cross-functional stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Ability to distill data into a cohesive and actionable storyline for non-quantitative stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to both big picture and critical details
  • You are a flexible, collaborative problem-solver who is passionate and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced atmosphere

Compensation: The role described above offers a base salary of $100,000 to $110,000. Your offer will be based on the alignment of your qualifications with the requirements of the job and internal equity. In addition to the above-mentioned salary, Total Rewards include a stock option package, and benefits as outlined below.
