About the internship

As a Threat Analysis Intern, you’ll work with experienced engineers to research and analyze scams and cyber threats, helping to improve protection for millions of customers. This role is ideal for a student who wants hands-on experience in cybersecurity, malware analysis and threat hunting.

What you’ll do

  • Help analyze scam threats (phishing, social engineering, online fraud) and support our anti‑scam detection strategy.

  • Assist in analyzing malware samples to understand behavior, infection vectors and impact.

  • Contribute to threat hunting, classification and creation of basic detection rules/patterns (e.g. for scripts, Office/PDF documents).

  • Support research into new scam and malware trends, tools and techniques used by attackers.

  • Help investigate vulnerabilities and exploits and contribute to protection in Gen products.

  • Work with simple tools, scripts and automation to streamline analysis and detection workflows.

What we’re looking for

  • Current university student (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security or a related field (no degree completion required).

  • Solid understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms and operating systems.

  • Some experience with C/C++ and/or Python; interest in learning more about reverse engineering, malware analysis or threat research.

  • Curiosity about cybersecurity (e.g. malware, scams, vulnerabilities) and motivation to learn new tools and techniques.

  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and willingness to work both independently and in a team.

  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both spoken and written.
