Senior Mgr, Program Management

Role Summary
We’re looking for a hands‑on Manager, Program Management – Cyber Safety to both lead a small team of Program Managers and personally own critical programs across Norton, Avast, and our broader portfolio.
You’ll sit at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Security, Data/ML, and GTM, turning Gen’s cyber safety strategy into coordinated execution. You are a player‑coach: you will spend a meaningful portion of your time directly running key programs while building a high‑performing PgM team that consistently delivers measurable outcomes for customers and the business.
Responsibilities
Lead critical cyber safety programs (hands‑on)
- Personally own 1–2 high‑impact, multi‑team programs end‑to‑end – from problem definition and discovery through build, launch, and optimization.
- Translate cyber safety goals and OKRs into concrete, realistic plans with clear scope, milestones, and success metrics.
- Drive day‑to‑day execution: coordinate work, manage risks and dependencies, and keep teams focused on what matters most.
- Orchestrate launch and readiness (messaging, training, support, safety/incident plans) for security‑ and privacy‑sensitive changes.
- Run post‑launch reviews and ensure learnings turn into follow‑on improvements.
Lead and develop the Program Management team
- Manage and coach Program Managers working across lines of business (e.g., Core Security, Privacy, VPN, Identity, E‑Commerce, AI/Emerging Tech).
- Set clear expectations and standards for what “great program management” looks like at Gen.
- Provide regular, actionable feedback and development support on strategy, execution, and stakeholder management.
- Allocate PgMs to the highest‑value work, balancing business needs with growth opportunities.
- Evolve PgM tools, templates, and practices to make running programs more effective and less bureaucratic.
- Foster a healthy, outcome‑focused culture: early risk surfacing, calm under pressure, strong collaboration, and a bias to action.
Shape how Gen runs cyber safety initiatives
- Partner with Product Strategy & Ops on the planning and governance model (e.g., quarterly planning, portfolio reviews, OKR rhythms).
- Represent the PgM function in cross‑functional forums; advocate for clarity, realistic commitments, and outcome‑driven decisions.
- Help embed responsible security, privacy, and AI risk considerations into how we design and run programs.
Qualifications
Required
- 7+ years in Program Management / Technical Program Management / Product Delivery, with 2+ years directly managing or leading Program Managers or Product Managers.
- Proven track record personally leading complex, cross‑functional programs end‑to‑end in software/SaaS.
- Direct experience in security, privacy, identity, fraud, or another safety‑critical domain (ideally in a consumer or prosumer environment).
- Experience working with AI/ML‑powered products and understanding their safety, risk, and trust implications.
- Strong strategic thinking: connects initiatives to customer pain, threat/market signals, cyber safety strategy, and business outcomes.
- Demonstrated people leadership: hiring, coaching, performance management, and building healthy, high‑trust teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence senior leaders and align Product, Engineering, Security, Brand, and GTM around shared goals.
- High bias to action and ownership – comfortable getting into the operational details of a program while maintaining a portfolio‑level view.
- Confident using data and metrics to define success, track progress, and drive trade‑offs.
Why This Role Matters
- You will personally lead and shape some of Gen’s most important cyber safety programs across Norton, Avast, and new offerings.
- You’ll build and lead the team that turns strategy into outcomes—ensuring our products don’t just ship, but meaningfully improve customer safety, privacy, and trust.
If you’re passionate about cyber safety, love driving complex cross‑functional initiatives, and enjoy developing others while staying hands‑on, we’d love to talk.
