We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mobile Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of our React Native mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to deliver high-quality mobile experiences that meet the needs of our rapidly growing user base.

The MoneyLion mobile team prides itself on good communication, documentation, and instrumentation. With a fast-growing user base, and hundreds of thousands of daily active users, stability and awesome UX are our top priorities. You will be essential in contributing to the platform as a whole, making sure our features are performing well (and look great). You'll work closely with design, product, and the rest of the engineering team to help ensure a holistic experience for our users and maintain a solid foundation to make the ML membership even more valuable.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the mobile engineering team in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms.
  2. Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define and implement mobile application features and enhancements.
  3. Contribute and influence the deliverables and designs of other engineering domains, such as but not limited to: Backend API interface design and QA testing methodologies.
  4. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the mobile engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  5. Conduct code reviews, ensure code quality, and enforce best practices and coding standards to ensure the reliability and maintainability of our mobile applications.
  6. Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile development trends, tools, and technologies, and share knowledge with the team to drive technical excellence.
  7. Drive the optimization and performance improvements of our mobile applications, ensuring a smooth and seamless user experience.
  8. Identify and resolve technical challenges, bugs, and performance issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  9. Collaborate with the QA team to ensure thorough testing and quality assurance of the mobile applications.
  10. Mentor and coach both junior and senior mobile engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  11. Actively draft, plan and lead the mobile engineering team's technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience (5+ years) in mobile application development for iOS and Android platforms.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) would be a plus (but not required).
  3. Strong expertise in programming languages such as Javascript, Typescript, Swift, or Java.
  4. Extensive experience with mobile development frameworks and tools such as Xcode, Android Studio, React Native, or Flutter.
  5. Deep understanding of mobile application architecture patterns, UI/UX best practices, and performance optimization techniques.
  6. Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration of mobile applications with backend services.
  7. Expertise with Functional Programming will be a plus
  8. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
  9. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze and debug complex issues in mobile applications.
  10. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) would be a plus.
  11. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  12. Proven track record of successfully leading and mentoring mobile engineering teams.
  13. A passion for mobile app development and a commitment to delivering high-quality, user-friendly applications.
  14. Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and the ability to take full responsibility of the mobile application
