Our Risk Department

Our Risk department has the vision to enable Mondu's aggressive growth strategy by building an accurate data-driven decisioning strategy and advanced portfolio analysis tools. We aim to become the benchmark of approval rate across the industry while making our business healthy and profitable.

The team is a blend of risk experts and strong data analysts with an eye for constant optimisation. As a member of the Fraud Prevention team, you will be an integral part of our Risk Department, helping us to identify and prevent fraudulent activities and minimise risk.

We seek a talented and motivated working student to join our Fraud Prevention team. As a working student, you will have the opportunity to work on a small team of experts and make a real impact on our business. You will review and investigate transactions for risky and fraudulent behaviour and work closely with the Fraud Prevention team to optimise our automatic decision strategy. 👩‍💻👨‍💻 What you’ll do:

As a Working Student in Fraud Prevention at Mondu, your responsibilities will include:

• Review transactions identified as potentially high risk to determine whether they are genuine or fraudulent: You will be responsible for reviewing transactions flagged as potentially fraudulent to assess their authenticity.
• Use investigative skills to research customers and their intent: You will need to use your investigative skills to research customers and determine their intentions behind the transaction.
• Monitor potential fraud trends and advise on possible remediation: You will be expected to closely monitor potential fraud trends and provide suggestions on how to mitigate them.
• Align closely with the business to provide feedback for ongoing issues: You will work closely with other departments to provide feedback on ongoing issues and identify potential solutions.
• Perform high-level analysis to optimise our automatic decision strategy: You will be responsible for analysing data to optimise our automatic decision strategy for identifying potentially fraudulent transactions.

🙌 Who will you work with?

Joan joined Mondu in May 2022 as Head of Fraud Prevention. She is building strategies to protect merchants and buyers from financial crime. Prior to Mondu, Joan worked at Klarna as Analytics Lead and manager of Fraud Strategy and Analysis US/UK manager, where she focused on automated decision strategy in Klarna’s growth markets. Joan has experience launching Fraud Policies for different markets around the world. At Mondu, she creates the fraud function to prevent our merchants and customers from financial crime, builds processes to ensure streamlined work, and develops world-class monitoring and analysis. People management is her passion - Joan enjoys watching personal growth and seeing her team gain new skills. She can tune her management style to what most benefits the team - whether hands-on or hands-off.
