The Role: Flutterwave is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Vice President, FP&A who will be responsible for shaping the strategy and, importantly, measuring execution against it, grounded in numbers and analytics.
As Flutterwave enters the next phase of its growth strategy towards an IPO-ready company, we want to put FP&A in the driving seat for shaping the strategic decision-making, optimizing financial performance, and driving toward the company’s long-term strategic objectives.
This role reports to the CFO and partners closely with the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team.
Roles and responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
- Strategic Alignment: Design and align financial performance management and planning activities with the strategic objectives of the organization and collaborate with business and support units to ensure that financial planning supports overall corporate goals
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build engagement models with other departments such as sales, product, engineering, marketing, operations, and HR to integrate financial insights into decision-making processes across the organization. This collaboration should foster a holistic view of business performance and enable more informed decision-making.
- Data Integration: Build processes and infrastructure that leverage advanced data analytics and integrate data from various sources across the organization to provide comprehensive insights into financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Proactive Decision Support: Team structure and alignment should proactively provide decision support to business and support units by offering scenario analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring. This includes effective challenges and ideas/opportunities, derived using numbers and analytics to help business units make informed decisions to achieve their objectives.
What your first year might look like (Note: this is not a comprehensive list):
- Financial Forecasting: Oversee financial performance management process to facilitate timely and actionable insights as a feedback loop for keeping teams on track.
- Budget Management: Manage budgeting process and associated infrastructure to be an effective decision-making tool that models the business dynamics of Flutterwave.
- Financial Analysis: Drive a firmwide culture deeply rooted in data-driven decisions through in-depth financial analysis and insights for key stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Team Leadership: Build a high-impact team that can grow their skills and experience as the company grows and expands globally.
What you bring to the table:
- Minimum 15-20 years of progressive experience in financial planning, data analytics, strategy, and reporting roles, with at least 8 - 10 years in a senior leadership position
- Proven expertise in financial performance management, strategic financial analysis, business partnering, and driving business decisions with data-driven insights
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing financial planning processes and financial modeling
- Experience with financial systems and tools, such as ERP systems, BI tools, and advanced Excel modeling
- Proven ability to drive process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial data and present insights to senior leadership
- Experience in leading and managing a team of finance professionals
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Willingness to travel as needed (10-25%)
