The Role: Flutterwave is seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Vice President (AVP),Risk Partnerships to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and managing partnerships that align with our business objectives, while ensuring effective risk mitigation strategies are in place to mitigate risk and enhance our competitive advantage. With a strong focus on risk management, we are dedicated to fostering strategic partnerships that drive sustainable growth and mitigate potential risks. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of risk management principles.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive risk partnership strategy aligned with the company's objectives and risk appetite.
• Identify and evaluate potential partnership opportunities to enhance risk mitigation efforts across various business lines.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, risk management teams, and business units, to assess partnership needs and priorities.
• Negotiate and execute partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and risk management standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment of partnership activities with overall business objectives
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of partnerships.
• Prepare regular reports for senior leadership, providing insights into the effectiveness of risk partnership initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of risk partnerships, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices in risk management and partnership development.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of risk partnership professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on risk partnerships, providing insights and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.

Required competency and skillset to be a waver:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven 12+ years’ in risk management, partnership development, or related roles within the financial services industry.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record of successfully developing and managing strategic partnerships to mitigate risk and drive business growth.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex risk scenarios and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving results in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to risk management and partnership development.
• Professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are a plus.
