Since launching in 2019, CapIntel has been on a mission to provide magical financial moments for all: investors, wealth professionals, and our customers.

Our innovative proposal generation platform transforms how financial professionals compare, discuss, and present investment options, empowering clients to make informed decisions. We pride ourselves on revolutionizing an outdated process with a product that's adopted 4x more than previous solutions. One executive called CapIntel "the most intuitive platform I’ve used in almost 20 years in financial services.”

As one of Canada's fastest-growing wealthtech companies, CapIntel is expanding at an unprecedented pace. Our relentless commitment to innovation drives us to build a dynamic team, strengthening our ability to impact the wealth industry landscape in 2025 and beyond.

About the role

CapIntel is building a Platform Engineering Team to help shape the architecture, reliability, and scalability of our engineering systems. The Senior Platform Developer role is a key part of our investment in platform maturity — you’ll design and implement cloud infrastructure, CI/CD workflows, and internal tools that improve the developer experience and support faster, more secure product delivery. While this role is platform-focused, familiarity with application-layer technologies is expected, and you may occasionally contribute to service-level design and integration alongside product teams.

What you'll do

  • Improve development workflows: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify and reduce friction across the development lifecycle.
  • Design and manage cloud infrastructure: Build secure, scalable AWS environments using Infrastructure as Code to support product development.
  • Standardize deployment processes: Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that promote consistency, automation, and reliable software delivery.
  • Build platform tools and services: Develop internal tools that enable self-service and streamline operations across teams.
  • Advocate for best practices: Help define cloud, security, and reliability standards while mentoring team members to adopt them.

What we're looking for

  • AWS Infrastructure: Hands-on experience designing and managing cloud environments using core AWS services.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with tools like AWS CDK to build reusable, scalable, and secure infrastructure patterns.
  • CI/CD Automation: Experience designing and maintaining deployment pipelines that support reliable and secure delivery.
  • Cloud Security & Observability: Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools to maintain visibility and reliability in production environments.
  • Collaboration & Problem Solving: Recognized for partnering effectively with cross-functional teams and driving technical improvements.

Bonus experience

  • Experience with observability platforms such as Splunk, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Background in security-focused development or threat modelling.
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices, including frameworks like OWASP Top 10 or MITRE ATT&CK.

The Interview Process

  1. 30-minute interview with Talent Acquisition
  2. 60-minute experience deep dive with the Director of Platform Engineering
  3. 60-minute technical design and architecture interview with two members of Engineering leadership.
